Update – Fallen tree at Cleaver Woods Recreation Park involving a motor vehicle
4 July 2012, St. James, Trinidad and Tobago, W.I. — The Forestry Division of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources wishes to advise that on Monday 2 July 2012, a tree located in the Cleaver Woods Recreation Park fell across the Eastern Main Road and struck a vehicle which was heading west. Forestry Division officials situated at Cleaver Woods were subsequently informed by the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Services that the occupants of the vehicle, Mr. Jamil Mohammed and his son, Mr. Iejaz Mohammed, were taken to the Arima Health Facility. Mr. Jamil Mohammed succumbed to sustained injuries, while his son Mr. Iejaz Mohammed was unhurt.
The Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources wishes to express its deepest and sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Mohammed over this tragic incident and the resulting loss of life, and pledges to cooperate fully with all relevant investigations.
